Porchlight seeks a motivated and experienced individual to create and implement the annual strategic development plan, refining a structure for effective fundraising to meet the organization’s current and future financial needs in a sustainable and consistent way. With a specific focus on individual and major gifts, the Development Director fosters relationships with existing and potential individual donors, foundation funders, corporate sponsors/funders, and other public/private organizations in an effort to advance the organization’s mission. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Proactively identify, recruit, and guide individuals from across your region to join THL’s expanding community of supporters. Grow our network and re-energize our existing network.
Train, motivate, and retain volunteers to take on leadership roles for THL and to execute a variety of actions and events to further our campaign efforts and overall mission to end the abuse of animals raised for food.
Efficiently manage volunteer tracking tools to keep meticulous records of volunteer activity and progression within THL’s changemaker circle of engagement.
Act as the face of THL to external stakeholders (including donors identified by THL’s Development team), local media, and community groups. This includes speaking at events, in webinars, and on video conference calls.
REQUIRED SKILLS
At least 1 year of experience in grassroots or community organizing or grassroots advocacy.
Leadership: Ability and desire to effectively guide, motivate, empower, and engage various target audiences. Because the movement is composed of people from a wide range of backgrounds, a deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and the ability to navigate DEI issues, is key.

This is a full-time, remote position. This position requires occasional domestic travel (equivalent to approximately 2-4 trips per year) as well as flexible hours, including occasional weekends.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Proactively identify, recruit, and guide individuals from across your region to join THL’s expanding community of supporters. Grow our network and re-energize our existing network.
Train, motivate, and retain volunteers to take on leadership roles for THL and to execute a variety of actions and events to further our campaign efforts and overall mission to end the abuse of animals raised for food.
Efficiently manage volunteer tracking tools to keep meticulous records of volunteer activity and progression within THL’s changemaker circle of engagement.
Act as the face of THL to external stakeholders (including donors identified by THL’s Development team), local media, and community groups. This includes speaking at events, in webinars, and on video conference calls.
REQUIRED SKILLS
At least 1 year of experience in grassroots or community organizing or grassroots advocacy.
Leadership: Ability and desire to effectively guide, motivate, empower, and engage various target audiences. Because the movement is composed of people from a wide range of backgrounds, a deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and the ability to navigate DEI issues, is key.

The compensation range for this role is $55,931 - $66,513. At The Humane League, we believe in maintaining a fair and equitable work environment for all employees. The Senior Manager, Gender will serve as a focal point for facilitating the integration of gender considerations into commitments, programs, budgets, training, monitoring and evaluation, and other learning activities and a resource person for FP2030 Support Network on gender equality, gender mainstreaming and women empowerment, consistent with operationalizing a rights-based approach to family planning and in support of the universal health coverage agenda. Essential Functions
Improve technical leadership and knowledge management:
Work collaboratively within the FP2030 Support Network and with partners to increase understanding of and promote solutions to critical gender gaps or barriers hindering progress towards reproductive power for women, girls and couples, including those affected by crises. Gender barriers operate at multiple levels (e.g., individual, couple, service provision, community) and include, but are not limited to, those related to gender norms, inequalities in access to opportunities based on sex and gender, gender-based violence and harmful traditional practices.
In collaboration with FP2030 colleagues and across thematic areas, drive implementation of FP2030’s gender strategy, including supporting FP2030 regional hubs to use findings from gender analyses (existing or new) to integrate gender in their workplans and activities.
Provide technical support on FP-related gender analysis, gender integration into programs, and gender related monitoring and evaluation, for FP2030 regional hubs and commitment making countries, as requested.
Work collaboratively with the Data and Measurement team to move the family planning field toward gender-responsive and rights-based measures of success, including improved indicators for and measurement of reproductive agency and power.
Work closely with regional hub staff who support utilization and implementation of the High Impact Practices in Family Planning and other evidence-based approaches to ensure integration of gender considerations.
Develop FP2030’s thought leadership on gender equality and gender transformative approaches to sexual and reproductive health and rights through participation in conferences and events and publication of articles and reports.
Improve capacity on gender integration:
Build expertise on gender integration among FP2030 staff, focal points and more broadly within the FP2030 Support Network by developing and guiding a gender focal points structure across hubs and teams
Plan, implement, and periodically assess gender capacity building across ensuring that staff across hubs understand and can apply programmatic gender integration principles.
Spearhead gender capacity building and knowledge sharing among partners, including coordinating cross regional learning exchanges and dissemination of good practices on gender transformative approaches, gender equality, women’s empowerment, and rights.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Global Arts Live offices are located at 720 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA, and concerts are currently held at different locations in Boston, Somerville, and Cambridge.
Work is generally performed in the office and at events, with some flexibility for working remotely.
Some night and weekend work at concert events required.
COMPENSATION
This is a full-time salaried, exempt position.
$50,000-$65,000 annual salary, based upon applicant’s experience with fundraising from individual donors.

Fundraise monthly gifts from new, prospective, and current members. You will use a number of fundraising tactics including peer-to-peer fundraising, in-person events and parties, converting digital-recruited leads to monthly pledgers, and ongoing fundraising phoning.
Innovate monthly giving fundraising tactics with focus towards a growing digital fundraising landscape and increasing our feedback loop from young members and members of the global majority.
Seize opportunities to move members to action and activist leadership that furthers our campaign areas and shows members the impact they are making in the world with us. You’ll be responsible for supporting member cultivation tactics: from new member welcome outreach to activist onboarding, you’ll be there to support members each step of the way.
Coordinate closely with the Senior Membership Manager regarding timing and expected income generated from the monthly giving growth tactics you’re innovatively implementing.
Lead all-staff fundraising teams that are primarily geared toward growing the monthly giving program.
Participate in the member and activist base building working group and bring forward new ideas to make our efforts to expand and cultivate our membership base more racially equitable.
Identify any high dollar leads in our general member base for the major gifts team.
Actively participate in organization-wide planning, fundraising, racial equity work, recruitment, and campaign activities.
Salary and benefits:
Salary range: $60,000 - $63,495 commensurate with experience.
Hours: Corporate Accountability’s full-time staff generally work 32 hours per week, with periods of more intensive work that correspond with the ebb and flow nature of campaigns or projects throughout the year. Our core hours are 10 am - 4 pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with flexibility to determine your remaining hours of the week in coordination with your supervisor and team. Given the nature of fundraising work, rapid response moments, and member house parties, there will be instances where you would need to be available outside of our standard business hours.
Our comprehensive benefit package includes: health insurance (with 90% of the premium for all tiers covered by the organization) and dental coverage (with 100% of the individual premium covered by the organization and the option to add dependents at an additional cost); FSA for transit, health care, and dependent care; and 401(k) with employer match.

Corporate Accountability is a member powered organization and has been for more than four decades. It’s one of our greatest strengths because our members give us the political independence we need to wage hard-hitting campaigns that challenge deep-rooted power structures. And monthly donors are the backbone of this membership support. Their regular contribution provides financial stability so we can create long-term, strategic campaign plans and the ability to react quickly when things change.
