Software Engineer (#1593413*)

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Software Engineer to support our Huntsville, AL location.

The candidate will design, develop, integrate, test and maintain software for a simulation environment which serves as an evaluation and research testbed for the Army S&T community. The primary responsibilities of the candidate will be software development of components within an environment aligned to open systems standards and integration support for third party technology vendors integrating into the distributed simulation environment.

Required Skills/Experience:

• 3+ years of applicable experience
• Experience developing software in C++, C#
• Experience with the MS Visual Studio and Eclipse IDEs
• Experience developing software targeted for Windows and Linux operating systems
• Working knowledge of IP network protocols
• Understanding of basic information technology including computer operating system setup and basic hardware troubleshooting
• Experience developing software as well as integrating and troubleshooting software and hardware within a distributed simulation environment
• Experience authoring documentation including software user manuals, software requirements, design, interface, and test documentation
• Ability to successfully complete tasks with minimal direction both working as a individual contributor as well as a team member 
• Demonstrated self-starter with strong interpersonal communications skills and ability to work across geographically diverse groups
• Travel: 10%
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

Education Requirements:

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics is required.

Desired Skills:

• Experience developing software in Python 
• Experience with the agile software development processes 
• Understanding of UML or SysML 
• Experience with modeling tools such as IBM Rhapsody or NoMagic Cameo 
• Experience working in a research and development laboratory environment 
• Familiarity with avionics, tactical networks, and unmanned mission systems
