Job Description

The Physics Department at Hope College invites applications for a non-tenure track Assistant Professor for a one-year term appointment with possibility of renewal for a second year, beginning July 1, 2021. We seek candidates with a desire to teach a range of undergraduate physics topics and contribute to the mission of the college. The teaching will include both introductory and non-introductory courses,  including laboratory.

The Physics Department focuses on physics teaching and on mentoring students in physics research. The department is equipped with high-end facilities including a tandem Pelletron particle accelerator and a materials characterization laboratory which is equipped with an atomic force microscope and a scanning electron microscope. A faculty and student stipend will be available for one summer to support research with a student.

A Ph.D. in physics is strongly preferred (ABD may also be considered).
