What you will do:

As a Park Manager 2 at L.L. Stub Stewart State Park, you will provide leadership, management oversight, and supervision of staff for the full range of park operational and program activities in the Columbia District; a geographic district in proximity to the Columbia River and city of Portland composed of five complex state park management units as part of helping the department achieve its overarching mission and vision.

Minimum Qualifications:

(a) Four years of experience as a Park Manager or equivalent natural resource manager.

OR

(b) A Bachelor's degree or higher in Park and Recreation Administration, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Studies or a related field; AND One (1) year of experience as a Park Manager or equivalent natural resource manager.

• Experience determining the methods, means and personnel by which park operations are to be conducted.
• Experience scheduling and assigning work.
• Experience evaluating the quality and quantity of work performed by direct report personnel.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the general public, media, agency and local government officials.
• Experience leading medium to large park improvement projects.
• Experience leading day to day park operations.
• Ability to develop and maintain positive working relations with neighboring property owners and mid-level agency representatives.
• Ability to work within collective bargaining agreements.
• Experience preparing moderately-sized biennial management unit budgets and operating within budgetary limits.
• Experience in promoting a culturally competent and diverse work environment.
• Living in on-site park housing is a requirement for this position.
