WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview): 

The Credit and Collections Manager is responsible for the management of the staff who perform daily collections process and activities in order to minimize financial loss to the organization. Responsible for the supervision, coordination and guidance of the collections staff to accomplish departmental goals and objectives. Will investigate the financial condition of credit risk accounts as well as new customers. 

Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with Red Cross Financial Management of Policy and Procedure (FMPP) and division goals and objectives.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD (Key Responsibilities): 

  • Review and perform financial analysis to assess the credit worthiness of new and existing customers based upon risk and determined triggers; provide guidance and recommendations for payment terms and/or credit limits.   
  • Coordinate, monitor and coach the Biomed collection team. Provides daily supervision and guidance to the staff. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, motivating team to successfully accomplish its goals and managing all employee related issues. Ensuring team members follow proper procedures.
  • Develop and recommend strategies and improvements, lead and implement;  to manage overall Biomed accounts receivable risk and increase the number of successful collections on outstanding debt.  Resolve problems and inquiries from staff, internal and external customers concerning credit and collections. Work closely with Accounts Receivable team(s) to resolve customer payment and billing disputes.
  • Lead contact for bankruptcy processing related to legal proceedings and bankruptcy filings.  Recommend and provide guidance on payment plan options to protect against the risk of financial loss.  Audit delinquent accounts considered being uncollectible to ensure appropriate communications and efforts have been taken before recommending COD, outside/legal process or write-off.  Manage relationship with credit and collection services and agencies.
  • Identify opportunities for and implement collaborative relationships with internal and external customers to ensure proper accounting of all income transactions and adequate information flow.  Ensure timely and accurate resolution to problems and inquiries from internal and external customers concerning credit and collections.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business related field, and minimum 5 years of prior work experience in a commercial credit department is required.  3 years in a management role in a B2B credit environment is required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to manage both internal and external relationships effectively; conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience managing remote teams.
  • Must be skilled in using Microsoft applications; high proficiency in Excel is a must including the ability to create and process financial spreadsheets.
  • Exercise sound judgement in complex situations, adapt to constantly changing situations with flexible and creative approaches. 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in planning and overseeing credit and collection activities. 
  • Prior financial statement analysis experience is required.

The salary range for this position is: $80,000 - $95,000
