Job Description

The Denver Service Center is the primary project execution office responsible for the planning, transportation, and major construction programs of the National Park Service. The Director manages planners, landscape architects, engineers, architects, and various other professionals within six divisions who accomplish their work in-house, or who oversee and coordinate the work of contracted architectural engineering firms, construction contractors, construction management firms, and other professional consultant firms.

To qualify, the applicant must meet the five executive core qualifications and two technical qualifications included below:

  • Knowledge of the principles, objectives, and techniques of planning, construction, and design programs as they affect the management of park resources; the preservation of historical structures; sustainable design; progressive contracting methods that assure the use of new technologies and innovation; and client involvement and satisfaction.
  • Ability to manage a hybrid office approach to a geographically dispersed staff of professional and technical employees and provide professional consulting services regarding complex projects on a nationwide basis; including the application of quality business practices in the areas of resource management, information reporting, and budget and financial management for a primarily project-funded office.
