Job Summary
The Clark County Assessor’s office has an opening for a residential appraiser position and one project appraiser position. The project appraiser position is limited duration and will end on December 31, 2021. Each position may be filled at the Appraiser I, II or III level depending upon applicant’s experience. Please note salary ranges for each level listed in the Qualifications section below.
We are looking for individuals who are goal oriented, self-starters with good analytical skills who can work in a fast paced environment and are eager to join a collaborative team of professionals engaged in the business of mass appraisal.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Appraiser I: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree with major course work in appraisal, real estate, business, accounting, math, or a related field or at least three to six months related experience in the areas of appraisal principles and techniques. Successful completion of Washington State Department of Revenue Appraiser Accreditation and IAAO Course 101 (Fundamentals of Real Property Appraisal) are required within twelve months of hire. The Appraiser I position is considered an entry level training position. Salary range: $18.98 - $24.20 per hour.
Appraiser II: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree with major course work in appraisal, real estate, business, accounting, math or construction and two years of prior appraisal related experience. Successful completion of Washington State Department of Revenue Appraiser Accreditation required within six months of hire. Salary range: $21.94 - $28.04 per hour.
Appraiser III: Bachelor’s degree with major course work in appraisal, real estate, business, accounting, math or construction and three to five years of prior appraisal experience. Department of Revenue Accreditation must be achieved within six months of hire. Full time appraisal experience greater than five years may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement. Salary range: $25.46 - $32.43 per hour.
The degree must have been conferred by an institution of higher education and have National Recognition of Accrediting Agencies by the U.S. Secretary of Education, and official transcripts will be required at the time of hire.
The successful candidate will be hired at the Appraiser I, II or III level depending on related qualifications.
