Job Summary
Clark County Public Health is seeking a part-time (32 hours per week) Public Health Nurse for the Nurse Family Partnership (NFP) program. This is a home visiting, relationship-based program for low-income pregnant women and teens. Clients enroll during pregnancy and visits continue until the child turns two years old. The nurse in this position will be stationed in Cowlitz County, and will work out of an office in Longview, Washington. Nurse home visitors are currently working remotely from their homes, and are engaging with clients via telehealth due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This position is not expected to be permanently remote.
This position is expected to carry a caseload of 20 or more pregnant and parenting teens. The nurse selected for this position will receive special training in the Nurse Family Partnership model.
Qualifications
This position will be stationed in Cowlitz County, working out of an office in Longview, Washington.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of increasingly responsible work experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities required by the position. The degree must have been conferred by an institution of higher education and have National Recognition of Accrediting Agencies by the U.S. Secretary of Education, and official transcripts will be required at the time of hire. New graduates with passion for public health nursing and maternal-child health population may be considered.
Knowledge of: Principles of public health nursing including professional nursing principles and concepts; Washington State Nurse Practice Act; behavior change models; normal and abnormal patterns of fetal, infant and child growth and development; danger signs of pregnancy and postpartum period; perinatal mood disorder; and medical record keeping.
Examples of Duties
Duties may include but are not limited to the following: Working independently, in the field most days of the week; participation in weekly team meetings; participation in weekly one-on-one reflective supervision with supervisor.

Salary Grade: Local 335.391 ($30.28 - $39.53) per hour
