Job Summary
This is a full-time position providing public health nursing services in Clark County, WA to pregnant and parenting women and their families enrolled in the Nurse Family Partnership Program. Anticipated start date: August 2, 2021
NFP is a strengths-based, client-driven home visiting model. Typical responsibilities include providing services to a caseload of 25 families including, but not limited to, home visits, planning/implementing nursing case conferences and care plans, and acting as an advocate with community agencies. Bilingual - Spanish is preferred but not required.
Additional responsibilities include monitoring the effectiveness of interventions and modifying care plans as needed; linking/referring families to health care and social services; educating pregnant and parenting women and families regarding the importance of prenatal care and preventive health measures. Home visitors should be able to work an occasionally flexible schedule which may include some evening and weekends as client needs and home visitor’s discretion dictate. If new to NFP, training will include one out-of-state training session.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of increasingly responsible work experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities required by the position.
The degree must have been conferred by an institution of higher education and have National Recognition of Accrediting Agencies by the U.S. Secretary of Education, and official transcripts will be required at the time of hire.
New graduates with passion for public health nursing and maternal-child health population may be considered. Bilingual Spanish is an advantage to this position but not required.
Knowledge of: Principles of public health nursing including professional nursing principles and concepts; Washington State Nurse Practice Act; behavior change models; normal and abnormal patterns of fetal, infant and child growth and development; urgent maternal warning signs and symptoms during the prenatal and postpartum period; perinatal mood disorder; and medical record keeping.

Salary Grade: Local 335.391 ($30.28 - $39.53) per hour
