Job Description

Eastern Florida State College is currently seeking applications for the full-time position of Director, Curriculum Development on the Cocoa Campus in Cocoa, Florida.

The Director of Curriculum Development position is a professional level position that is responsible for coordinating and carrying out procedures related to processing, organization, maintenance and accessibility of the college’s educational course and program records and degree-audit functions.  Duties include assistance and support to instructional personnel with curriculum development and processing.  Serves as a liaison for curriculum issues for various constituencies within college leadership.  Serves as institutional contact to the Statewide Course Numbering System (SCNS) in Tallahassee and oversees the data entry and maintenance of courses in Banner, eCPR, and catalog development.

The following minimum qualifications for this position must be met before any applicant will be considered:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and experience in working with curriculum and program development and the Florida State Course Numbering System.
  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in the English language.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge and effective use of college software systems.
  • Knowledge of the Florida Department of Education and EFSC procedures and regulations pertaining to curriculum.
  • Ability to represent office in a highly professional manner.
  • Experience in technical writing.
  • Experience in working with faculty in curriculum development.
  • Working knowledge of Bloom’s taxonomy.
  • Ability to make decisions in accordance with college rules, regulations, and policy.
  • Valid Florida Motor Vehicle Operator’s license required. For individuals unable to obtain a driver’s license, a valid Florida ID is required. Employees and/or volunteers unable to obtain a Florida driver’s license, will not be allowed to drive any college vehicle, golf cart or any other motorized vehicle on college property. 
  • This position will require successful fingerprinting and the candidate chosen will be required to pay the associated fee (currently $37.25). This fingerprinting fee ($37.25) is non-refundable.

 *High School Diploma or GED or transcripts or official transcripts of all collegiate work (as appropriate for the position) must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Human Resources Office prior to the first day of employment.  All foreign degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc.

 Minimum physical qualifications:

  •  Ability to type accurately.
  • Ability to access file cabinets for filing and retrieval of data.
  • Ability to sit at a desk and view a display screen for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer.

The annual salary is $63,500.  Successful internal candidates for external job postings should be aware that their current salary does not transfer to the new position.  Salary will be as advertised in the job announcement.  Full-time employees of Eastern Florida State College receive fringe benefits including health insurance and a retirement plan.
