Demonstrated experience conducting site inspections and hazard assessments and developing practical corrective actions.

Assists with property security practices & procedures.

Responsible for performing various skilled trade tasks for facility maintenance and construction projects.
Cross Functional Work
Supports care of livestock, providing feeding, and daily chores.
Assists with the delivery of equipment, machinery, luggage, and various materials when needed.
Deliver emergency support during on-site incidents.
Provide and support safe and healthy practices.
In coordination with the camp team, facilitate camper program delivery, check-in & check-out procedures, orientation, and other operational logistics.
Assist with the management of site and program equipment, including storage, care, inventory, and maintenance.
Provide additional support as necessary to facility staff, camp team, kitchen, and housekeeping staff members.
Administration
Manage administrative responsibilities in a timely, independent, and detail-oriented manner.

Job Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is a journey level position performing skilled work using standardized practices for the following Specialist position: Journey Level Electrician. Incumbents are responsible for repair, adjustment, and maintenance of building systems and equipment within their specialty. Additionally, the Specialists are responsible for assisting in other specialties necessitating broad knowledge, skills and abilities in all areas of building repair and maintenance. This is the journey level in the Facilities Maintenance job family. Incumbents work with considerable independence following the standard practices of their specialty, ensuring that regulatory and preventive maintenance is performed, that routine maintenance is completed and urgent repairs are corrected in a timely manner. Incumbents may guide the work of other Specialists in accomplishing projects within their specialty area and may be responsible for training apprentice level Workers. The Specialist level is distinguished from the Worker level in that Specialists are expected to have completed the equivalent of a structured apprenticeship program and, where applicable, to hold the appropriate specialty license or card. This is a limited duration Local 48 project position ending 12/31/2025.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Completion of a trades apprenticeship program leading to the equivalent of a Journey card or license in the assigned specialty area; and,
Two years of general experience in building maintenance, construction, or an additional trade.
Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
Ability to pass Sheriff's background clearance prior to employment as required for work performed in the Jail facility.
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.
Knowledge of: Methods, tools and materials used in the assigned area of specialty and in commercial building maintenance and repair; preventive maintenance procedures; codes and regulations applicable to the specialty system and building maintenance in general; purchasing and bid requirements; computer systems used in building system diagnosis; occupational hazards and safety precautions associated with the task being performed.
Ability to: Complete tasks in a timely manner, perform tasks with safety consciousness at all times, view, diagnose and repair a variety of complex equipment within the assigned specialty; read building construction plans, blue prints, and equipment instruction manuals; demonstrate sufficient strength, agility and dexterity to perform the work of the position; prepare cost estimates and bid specifications; maintain accurate records; communicate effectively with other encountered in the course of the work; safely use and care for tools and equipment.

Defines, develops and performs preventive maintenance programs for all specialty area equipment and systems within the County buildings as directed by your immediate supervisor.
Uses complex diagnostic equipment in the detection of system/equipment failure or malfunction.
Installs and repairs all specialty area systems and equipment within County buildings to include Emergency Generators, Automated Lighting Control Systems, UPS Systems including battery replacement, maintenance and testing of various systems, PLC controlled systems, Automated Gate systems, Fire Alarm System knowledge, Stormwater Pump System, general electrical installation and lighting maintenance.
Maintain accurate records and work reports on all work performed utilizing electronic devices. (Cell phone, computer terminal).
Obtains competitive price quotes, locates vendors, and purchases supplies necessary to maintain inventory and complete assigned projects.
Designs and/or modifies relevant components of remodel projects within County buildings.
Works as a part of a team in the design and implementation of remodel projects; may install wiring and devices to assist system upgrades, may necessitate performing support work within another specialty area.
Provides guidance and training to Workers and other staff within the assigned specialty area.
Reads, understands, and utilizes complicated blueprints, schematics and plans as well as software systems used in daily documentation.
Coordinates with architects, engineers and outside contractors to complete assigned projects.

Job Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is a journey level position performing skilled work using standardized practices for the following Specialist position: Journey Level Electrician. Incumbents are responsible for repair, adjustment, and maintenance of building systems and equipment within their specialty. Additionally, the Specialists are responsible for assisting in other specialties necessitating broad knowledge, skills and abilities in all areas of building repair and maintenance. This is the journey level in the Facilities Maintenance job family. Incumbents work with considerable independence following the standard practices of their specialty, ensuring that regulatory and preventive maintenance is performed, that routine maintenance is completed and urgent repairs are corrected in a timely manner. Incumbents may guide the work of other Specialists in accomplishing projects within their specialty area and may be responsible for training apprentice level Workers. Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Completion of a trades apprenticeship program leading to the equivalent of a Journey card or license in the assigned specialty area; and,
Two years of general experience in building maintenance, construction, or an additional trade.
Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
Ability to pass Sheriff's background clearance prior to employment as required for work performed in the Jail facility.
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.

KEY OR TYPICAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide high quality customer service at all times, maintain professionalism, perform quality work with minimal supervision and adhere to all safety standards while performing tasks.
Defines, develops and performs preventive maintenance programs for all specialty area equipment and systems within the County buildings as directed by your immediate supervisor.
Uses complex diagnostic equipment in the detection of system/equipment failure or malfunction.
Installs and repairs all specialty area systems and equipment within County buildings to include Emergency Generators, Automated Lighting Control Systems, UPS Systems including battery replacement, maintenance and testing of various systems, PLC controlled systems, Automated Gate systems, Fire Alarm System knowledge, Stormwater Pump System, general electrical installation and lighting maintenance.
Maintain accurate records and work reports on all work performed utilizing electronic devices. (Cell phone, computer terminal).
Obtains competitive price quotes, locates vendors, and purchases supplies necessary to maintain inventory and complete assigned projects.
Designs and/or modifies relevant components of remodel projects within County buildings.
Works as a part of a team in the design and implementation of remodel projects; may install wiring and devices to assist system upgrades, may necessitate performing support work within another specialty area.
Provides guidance and training to Workers and other staff within the assigned specialty area.
Reads, understands, and utilizes complicated blueprints, schematics and plans as well as software systems used in daily documentation.
Coordinates with architects, engineers and outside contractors to complete assigned projects.
Completion of a specialty specific apprenticeship program leading to the equivalent of a Journey card or license in the assigned specialty area; and,

Designs and/or modifies relevant components of remodel projects within County buildings.
Works as a part of a team in the design and implementation of remodel projects; may install wiring and devices to assist system upgrades, may necessitate performing support work within another specialty area.
Provides guidance and training to Workers and other staff within the assigned specialty area.
Reads, understands, and utilizes complicated blueprints, schematics and plans as well as software systems used in daily documentation.
Coordinates with architects, engineers and outside contractors to complete assigned projects.
Completion of a specialty specific apprenticeship program leading to the equivalent of a Journey card or license in the assigned specialty area; and,
Two years of general experience in building maintenance, construction, and repair.
Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license (required to perform duties).

What will you need:
Education: You have a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, business, public policy, political science, non-profit management, international affairs, or similar subject

You have experience organizing and managing detailed and complex budgeting structures, donor reporting and/or grant or financial management

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is a journey level position performing skilled work using standardized practices in one or more of the following trades: electrical, electronic, carpentry, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), plumbing and locksmithing. Incumbents are responsible for repair, adjustment, and maintenance of building systems and equipment within their trade. The journey level painter is responsible for maintaining and assisting with all interior and exterior painting for County owned and leased properties and structures. Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Completion of a trades apprenticeship program leading to the equivalent of a Journey card or license in the assigned specialty area; and,

Successfully completed a full 4-year course of study leading to a Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering that included differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five (5) of the following seven (7) areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Currently registered as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. This must include either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) performing the following: (1) overseeing the survey, design, construction, and/or maintenance of buildings, structures, bridges, or facilities; (2) providing technical guidance or design and construction assistance of transportation routes, access roads, wells, etc.; (3) monitoring, reviewing, or updating contracts, procedures, workload, or budgets; (4) providing leadership, guidance, or mentorship to other Engineers or Engineering Technicians. Incumbent must possess and maintain a valid State driver's license for duration of appointment in order to operate government owned vehicles such as all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), utility-terrain (UTVs), and 4x4 vehicles sometimes pulling a UTV trailer.
You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to 6-10 nights per month. You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes.
Physical Demands: The work is about 60% office work and 40% fieldwork. Fieldwork may require walking, bending, climbing, carrying testing apparatus and/or surveying equipment associated with on-site investigations, contract inspections, and supervision.
