May perform any or all blood collection procedures (may include allogeneic, autologous, directed, therapeutic; automated red cell and platelet pheresis) donor collections. May performs all types of donor health history screening and eligibility procedures. 3. Perform drive set-up, donor greeting, labeling, processing and packing blood, donor reaction care and processing and packing of blood as assigned. 4. Perform daily function checks, assemble and maintain supplies and equipment to ensure a state of readiness and to maintain compliance. 5. Function with team effort to ensure efficient donation process focused on donor and sponsor expectations. Maintain positive public relations to promote a professional image. 6. May perform therapeutic apheresis according to established procedures and protocols as assigned. 7. May perform competency assessments. 8. May perform drive charge/team lead duties independently in the absence of a Team Supervisor when assigned. 9. May perform autologous/allogeneic mini-operations independently. 10. May operate any ARC vehicle. Operate assigned vehicle according to applicable regulations. May perform vehicle checks and complete DOT paperwork per established protocol. Perform vehicle loading and unloading as assigned. 11. Complete required readings and training assignments by assigned deadline. 12. Perform other related duties as necessary.   Scope Performs high level collections operational functions. May include drive charge/lead, therapeutic apheresis, single person operations, and primary trainer under the direction of a supervisor. Must be able to work independently with attention to detail. Able to lead a team and correct any drive operational efficiencies. Apply good manufacturing practices to drive operations ensuring overall compliance. Balance production, customer service and compliance on a day-to-day basis to ensure integrity of the product and optimum donor experience. As integral link between donors and ARCBS, portray a commitment to customer service by conveying and demonstrating a consistent style of professionalism. Qualifications RN/LPN or equivalent experience is preferred. The KMUW Korva Coleman Internship is geared toward training college students of color to be part of the next generation of public radio reporters and newscasters. The Coleman intern will get an immersive, hands-on learning experience at KMUW, Wichita’s award-winning National Public Radio station, as well as mentoring from NPR newscaster Korva Coleman. The internship will run for 10 weeks beginning May 26, 2020. The Coleman intern will work 40 hours a week and be paid a $5,000 stipend. He or she also will receive free room and board. The Coleman intern will get professional experience reporting and writing for both broadcast and digital platforms. He or she will work with veteran public radio reporters and editors in the KMUW newsroom. The intern also will receive training to help develop his or her on-air voice delivery. At the end of the internship, the Coleman intern will have a formal exit interview with the news director. He will identify the intern’s strengths and weaknesses and areas of growth, as well as provide a formal letter of recommendation reflecting a summary of the internship experience. The best candidates will have: Outstanding writing and reporting skills. Experience working for a media outlet, either on campus or in the community. Broadcast experience is a bonus, but not required. A strong interest in news and the world around them. A genuine desire to learn and pursue NPR-style journalism. A curious and creative bent.
